Biseondae mountain peak
The name "Biseondae" comes from the legend of a fairy flying to the sky while admiring the magnificent scenery of this place. The surrounding area is rocky ridges and peaks as if they are touching the sky, and Biseondae has been the inspiration for many poets and scholars. Some of their works have been carved on stone and are still preserved today.

Baekdamsa stone temple
Baekdamsa was built during the Shilla Jindeok dynasty. Later, the temple was destroyed in a fire and after many stages of reconstruction was finally rebuilt today. According to legend, a monk at this temple was worried about the temple fires going on repeatedly. One night, an old monk who appeared in the monk's dream advised to build a temple next to the 100th lake, counting down from Daecheongbong. The monk followed the instructions and built the temple in that position, named Baekdamsa, which means Temple of the 100th Lake. From then on there was no further fire.

Baekdamsa lies deep inside Seorak. The temple is surrounded by foothills. When the sky was about to fall, the foliage dyed red in a region of space, the clear water flowing murmuring through the ravine in front of the temple, the fresh air here washed away all impurities in life.
